This year’s MLK Keynote Celebration will feature Dr. Paula Groves Price, a nationally recognized scholar and Dean of the College of Education at North Carolina A&T State University. The celebration will include performances and the presentation of the MLK Distinguished Service Awards, recognizing individuals across the WSU system whose work reflects Dr. King’s vision of connection, service, and community.

Join the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and English Department for Writers Give Voice, a reading and open mic event centered on this year’s theme, A Call to Consciousness.

Readers will include Campus Civic Poets and finalists, creative writing students and faculty, and student editors of WSU creative writing publications.

All students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome to sign up to read a poem or written work—original or selected—that reflects the themes of the day. 

Visitors are also invited to explore current exhibitions, including Color Outside the Lines and Anish Kapoor: Dissolving Margins. In partnership with MASC, attendees may participate in a hands-on letterpress printing of a selected poem.
